Store coffee in an airtight container, away from light, heat and humidity, and grind just before use.
Use a water filter or softener to limit scale, and schedule regular servicing for your machine.
Storing coffee
- Airtight container, away from light, heat and humidity.
- Grind just before use.
Water and limescale
Depending on the area, water can be hard. Scale builds up in the boiler, pipes and solenoid valves, reduces performance and damages parts. A filter or softener limits scale but does not remove it entirely.
- Change the filter according to the manufacturer.
- Schedule regular servicing that includes descaling.
Practical tips
- Do not buy more coffee than you will use in a reasonable time.
- Keep the grinder and the basket clean: old coffee spoils the taste of the new.
- Use clean, filtered water and check the filter at the recommended intervals.
When to ask for help
If the taste or the pressure will not settle despite good coffee and clean water, ask a technician to check the machine. See our coffee machine service.
